Edlyn | Wellesley Senior Photography

February 9, 2009

Woohoo, I’m on a roll, getting editing done early! Raise your hand if your senior portrait (high school or college) was awful. I was definitely one of them. For some reason they always occurred when I had a bad hair day.

So Edlyn had me drive up to the beautiful Wellesley campus to come take photos of her before she graduated. What a good idea! I don’t think I have any nice photos of myself on Harvard campus… maybe I should get them before I stop looking like a college student.

Anyhow, here are some top picks:

First off, it was 10 degrees warmer than normal. Isn’t Edlyn’s top a pretty pretty color?

Getting in more practice in doing from-above head shots!

I loved her bag, and of course, why not have a photo that shows it off?

We went into the Lulu Chow Wang student center and found some pretty awesome nooks to shoot in. This shot sort of simulates Edlyn in class

Getting a little more traditional with a chair…

Pahua and Chata | Boston Couple Photography

February 9, 2009

Another cold day in Boston, but another wonderful couple to photograph! Pahua and Chata came all the way up from Connecticut, and we had lots of fun ideas to work with while walking around the Haymarket / Fanueil Hall area. I LOVED the fact that they both wore matching red. A beautiful couple!
I don’t do a lot of sepia tone, but I loved their intimacy in this one

This photo is particularly cute as Chata helped Pahua down from a bench

See how beautifully bright colors stand out against a cold Boston background? I highly recommend paying good attention to the colors in your wardrobe when you prepare for a photoshoot!

The Sound of Growing Up | Artist Session

February 7, 2009

I got to shoot Justin of The Sound of Growing Up. He’s a talented singer-songwriter – check out some of his tunes at his myspace.

We had a lot of fun shooting in the [bitter] cold around Central Square and MIT’s Stata Center. Luckily the sun was very bright and the sky was a brilliant blue.

Stata center is so cool – love the colors and the crazy architecture of the building

Sharleen and Adam | Boston Engagement Photography

February 5, 2009

I had the most unusual and awesome opportunity to photograph a surprise engagement party at The Liberty Hotel. The happy couple met each other in Harvard Square, and the proposal happened back where it started. Meanwhile, Sharleen’s sister Simran was busy pulling together an amazing logistical feat where friends from all over the country gathered in a suite to welcome Adam and Sharleen.

Simran getting the call from Sharleen that she said “yes”!

I love ribbons

Guests waiting for the couple to arrive

Surprise! This is one of the few moments I wanted to catch with flash. Otherwise the ambient light in the apartment was very beautiful..
