Waiting for Two | Maternity Photography

May 27, 2009

My pod at work dismantled about a month and a half ago. I decided to move to a sunnier side, and Roman, our dear friend, left to pursue something that would actually let him see daylight during the week… ;) He’s still around though, and he, along with his wife, Abigael, are expecting twins!

Matching onesies – they’re expecting a boy and a girl

I love these beautiful photos of Abigael by the window – can you believe she’s at 25 weeks?

Roman was a darling and doted on Abigael

This is them posing by their ketubah – it’s a Jewish marriage certificate. It looks really cool

So gorgeous!

For some reason this photo really stuck out to me… probably because it was so candid

Let’s move Roman into the forefront =)

More photos can be found by clicking here. Congrats you two! I can’t wait to see the little ones when they arrive!

Lisa and Javier | Boston Engagement Photography

May 24, 2009

These photos of Lisa and Javier were taken on the same day as Kristen and Matt, but you probably can’t tell.. in the couple of hours that passed between, temperatures dropped 20 degrees, and a MASSIVE patch of fog moved into Boston. Sigh, oh New England. Nevertheless, we all took it in stride, and Lisa and Javier’s personalities more than made up for the blaaah weather. We explored North End for this session.

You know it’s going to be a hilarious session when one of the first photographs is a Blue Steel

I rarely post up a series, mostly because I haven’t quite made the watermarking for that as automatic as I’d like, but this one is too cute. Click on it to see it larger

Javier likens himself to Pepe le Peu, whose relationship with the love of his life – a black and white cat he mistakes for a skunk – can best be summed up with this picture. Everyone say “aww”!

More textures around North End. By the way, Lisa had her hair run that day and is wearing her wedding day shoes. Tip to my other brides – definitely a great way to do some trial runs on engagement session day!

LOVE this red door!

Okay, Javier and Lisa CAN dance (unlike Andrew and I). Look at that move!

I might want to try variations on this in future sessions…

I can’t wait for their wedding – and it’s coming up soon! See some more photos here

Kristen and Matt | Boston Engagement Photography

May 23, 2009

They met each other through a mutual friend while at a Tom Petty concert… The concert was fine and all, but when they began talking, the rest was history. Meet Kristen and Matt, a truly Bostonian couple! You can often find them in the summers at a Red Sox game, hanging out and having a grand time.

We began at the Public Gardens

To continue to with the concert theme, Matt, who does web design, made “tickets” announcing their wedding! So cool! I had to blur out the wedding location, but believe me, the tickets looked pretty real =)

We found a cool alleyway while walking towards downtown, and I totally love this set of photos, Kristen and Matt had a lot of fun!

These gorgeous textures and patterns can be found at the Trinity Church Boston

Congrats you two! I’m sad I won’t be available for your wedding, but I know you’ll have a BLAST!

At the Arboretum | Boston Baby and Family Photography

May 22, 2009

Kids grow up so quickly! You might remember little A from this photoshoot or his absolute fab birthday party. We’re slated for a couple more sessions this year. Today’s post is from a Mother’s Day photoshoot at Arnold Arboretum. The weather was gorgeous that day, which meant that the park was also really crowded!

Many flowers were still in full bloom. I love pinks and greens!

I love it when kids open up

Since I last saw A, he also learned how to walk!

…well, almost…

Some family portraits

Little A is a brave one… remember how he petted a horse? Well, this was a HUGE Great Dane

I’m so glad it’s Memorial Day weekend! I had a string of late (post 9PM) nights at work, I got sicker and sicker as the week progressed (I have the non-swine flu, I had some food poisoning), so I hope to get completely better this weekend and finish editing! This month I also walked the 20-mile Walk for Hunger and raised over $500 (thank you supporters!!!). Andrew and I are headed to Brown this weekend to participate in some commencement weekend activities. And oh yeah, I have to pack! I bought a condo in Brookline, closing is this coming week, and I hope to move next weekend (in the middle of 4 senior photoshoots). Crazy month for me in general, I’m surviving… but I’m not going to lie, I’m stretching myself, so that’s why I can’t take on any more gigs between now and August 15.

Oh, my friend Dave totally got me hooked on this arrangement by Jon Schmidt of Taylor Swift’s Love Story and Coldplay’s Viva la Vida (youtube vid here). Now, I’m not a big fan of Swift’s song, I think the lyrics are unrealistic and from a counterpoint view, I don’t like too many neighbor notes strung together, I prefer having wider intervals or appegiated chords in the melody line, but I loooove Coldplay, and I was introduced to Schmidt back in 2006 and have really liked his stuff too. It’s great study/work music =)

Rich and Stefan | Boston Wedding Photography

May 19, 2009

This wedding is one that photographers in many states would not be able to capture, and I was very honored to be asked to photograph. Rich and Stefan held an intimate ceremony in Hingham with their family and friends, and what a blast it was! It was also Stefan’s birthday around that time, so double happiness!

Vendor information:
Venue: Tosca
Tuxes: Men’s Wearhouse
Cake: Maria at Tosca
Floral design: Sue Chasia Design, Scituate, MA
Music: Contact Catherine Bent or Rose Wollman

First off, Rich and Stefan are so, so adorable together

There were many cherry blossoms falling nearby

Their friend Lisa conducted the ceremony, and her shoes were absolutely fabulous

Looks so delicious!

Oh, and their friends are too hilarious! During the dinner a bunch of them went outside, and when I joined them I found them all singing merrily

Congrats again, Rich and Stefan! See more photos here
