Christina and Alex | Boston Engagement Photography

July 22, 2009

Christina is one of my closest post-college friends. Not only that, she’s my coworker and we roomed for a year before I moved… I love watching her and Alex interact. They are absolutely hilarious, very social and affable people, they will make you instantly feel at home and welcomed into their lives. Alex is a great cook and loves poking fun at Christina. Christina, I’d say, is one strong and amazing woman – when she puts her mind to it, she gets crazy stuff done. For our engagement session, Christina wore a beautiful, column-like purple dress. We went to Brookline’s Larz Anderson Park.

I like it when couples naturally laugh at each other

Love the intimacy here

Ruuuuun!!

Heehee, this photo cracks me up

This background is very painting-like.. Alex found it!

Love this park. It has so many beautiful places, and is a lot less crowded than the Public Garden!

Sharon and Paul | Providence Engagement Photography

June 7, 2009

Andrew’s friends are now starting to get engaged, and it’s only befitting that Sharon and Paul’s photos be taken at Brown/Providence. We traveled down for commencement weekend and hung out with a bunch of Andrew’s old suitemates. Paul and Andrew lived together for some time during college, and Sharon was with Andrew on the Tae Kwon Do team. Oh, there are some hilarious behind-the-scenes photos as well, but they’ll have to come in a little later

I love the way they hug!

Flowers on campus were in full bloom

Hehe, Paul is pretty goofy sometimes

Providence is an artsy place. Interesting sculpture here..

Woo! Sassy!

Did I say how much I love their hugs? Yay hugs!

Their first dance is gonna rock if this pic is any indication

Mmmm grass… it had actually rained a bit the previous days, I’m so glad the weather cleared!

Congrats Sharon and Paul! Wishing you good luck planning a wedding with your busy schedules! See more photos here

Lisa and Javier | Boston Engagement Photography

May 24, 2009

These photos of Lisa and Javier were taken on the same day as Kristen and Matt, but you probably can’t tell.. in the couple of hours that passed between, temperatures dropped 20 degrees, and a MASSIVE patch of fog moved into Boston. Sigh, oh New England. Nevertheless, we all took it in stride, and Lisa and Javier’s personalities more than made up for the blaaah weather. We explored North End for this session.

You know it’s going to be a hilarious session when one of the first photographs is a Blue Steel

I rarely post up a series, mostly because I haven’t quite made the watermarking for that as automatic as I’d like, but this one is too cute. Click on it to see it larger

Javier likens himself to Pepe le Peu, whose relationship with the love of his life – a black and white cat he mistakes for a skunk – can best be summed up with this picture. Everyone say “aww”!

More textures around North End. By the way, Lisa had her hair run that day and is wearing her wedding day shoes. Tip to my other brides – definitely a great way to do some trial runs on engagement session day!

LOVE this red door!

Okay, Javier and Lisa CAN dance (unlike Andrew and I). Look at that move!

I might want to try variations on this in future sessions…

I can’t wait for their wedding – and it’s coming up soon! See some more photos here

Kristen and Matt | Boston Engagement Photography

May 23, 2009

They met each other through a mutual friend while at a Tom Petty concert… The concert was fine and all, but when they began talking, the rest was history. Meet Kristen and Matt, a truly Bostonian couple! You can often find them in the summers at a Red Sox game, hanging out and having a grand time.

We began at the Public Gardens

To continue to with the concert theme, Matt, who does web design, made “tickets” announcing their wedding! So cool! I had to blur out the wedding location, but believe me, the tickets looked pretty real =)

We found a cool alleyway while walking towards downtown, and I totally love this set of photos, Kristen and Matt had a lot of fun!

These gorgeous textures and patterns can be found at the Trinity Church Boston

Congrats you two! I’m sad I won’t be available for your wedding, but I know you’ll have a BLAST!

Juliana and Jesse | Boston Engagement Photography

May 15, 2009

Having the opportunity to document special moments in my friends’ lives is such an honor. Juliana is perhaps one of the first friends I made post-college who has become engaged during that time. Jesse is such a sweetheart, the engagement included him serenading Juliana on his guitar! We walked our way down from the public library, on Newbury Street, ending at the Public Gardens. Their wedding will be in Toronto (where they were from) and they wanted a set of engagement photos in both cities that they’ve come to call home. I’m glad you two will still be around after your wedding!

A couple shots at the library

There’s a lot of scaffolding around the area…

They spend a lot of dates here

I can almost hear Jesse’s laugh in this one

I love photos of people lying on the grass!

Woo, so hot!

Me: Jesse, we’re going to go for something more fashion-like here
Jesse: Huh?
Me: Never mind, just look away from the camera! [heehee, I usually try not to direct too much on my shoots]

Shalom. This was incribed in the church where Jesse proposed
